One of the purposes of this project is to provide long-term support (i.e., process validations and hands-on training) for equipment companies and processors of low-moisture foods, via a multi-location "Validation Center" that enables easy access to the very significant, aggregated Biosafety Level-2(3) pilot processing capabilities among the project teams/institutions. Further information about these facilities, existing pilot-scale equipment (e.g., spray dryer, impingement oven, radio-frequency systems, extruders, etc.), and how to engage the team in pilot-scale processing/validation studies will be posted soon.
